Explosives experts were called out to a site in Manchester city centre following the discovery of an unexploded tank cartridge.
Specialist police officers and a military bomb disposal unit attended the scene at a building site on Newquay Street on Wednesday (24 October) morning.
Greater Manchester Police said the device had been there “for some time”.
Surrounding buildings were evacuated but the device was removed safely in the afternoon.
