Two men have been charged after a man was brutally assaulted in Farnworth and then died days later.
Alex Coglan, 28 and from Farnworth in Greater Manchester, and Ellis Hampson, 19 and from Little Hulton, have been charged with murder and remain in custody.
Coglan is due to appear at Manchester Crown Court today, 19 June, and Hampson made an appearance at Manchester City Magistrates Court on Saturday, 17 June.
At around 5.55pm on Friday 9 June 2017, police were called to a report that a man had been assaulted around midday near to Century Mill, Farnworth.
He was taken to hospital for treatment but discharged himself the next day. He was readmitted two days later and sadly died on Tuesday 13 June.
A 26-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody for questioning.
