Thieves steal Salford food bank donations

Thieves stole £2,500 worth of donations from a food bank in Salford.

Supermarket chain Aldi had donated a lorry-load of products to a council scheme in Lower Broughton.

However, burglars broke into a unit on Mocha Parade and took nappies and sanitary products that were to be distributed to vulnerable women and families.

The council said a new and more secure storage site was being arranged.
