Police investigating a serious assault in Keighley which left a man critically ill in hospital are appealing for witnesses.
A 19-year-old man suffered serious injuries in the incident in Dalton Lane, which is believed to have happened at around 3.55pm on Saturday 1 September. He remains in hospital in a critical condition.
A 16-year-old male also received treatment for a serious facial injury.
Police have arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with the incident. He has since been released under investigation.
Detective Inspector Claire Smith, of Bradford District CID, said: “A young man is seriously ill in hospital following this incident, which happened close to the junction with Chatsworth Street on Saturday afternoon.
“While we continue to investigate the circumstances around this attack, we know the area was busy with passing traffic at that time and that people in the area would have seen what happened.
“We are appealing for those people to come forward with any information they have, so we can trace those responsible for this serious assault.
“We believe those responsible for the attack may have been in a black car of similar size to a Volkswagen Golf, so we would be keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a car matching this description in the area.”
