Shots fired in Bolton

Police are appealing for witnesses after shots were fired in Bolton.

Shortly before 7pm on Wednesday the 11^th of January 2017, police were called to Ashbourne Avenue, Bolton, to reports of a man with a gun.

Officers attended and found gunshot damage to a window in property on the street.

Police enquiries established that two men had ridden a moped onto Ashbourne Avenue, one carrying what is believed to be a sawn-off shotgun. The passenger got off the motorbike and fired a shot towards a house.

The passenger then got back on the motorbike and drove away.

Police have launched an investigation.

Anyone who has any information has been asked to contact the police via 101.
