At about 9.25am on Tuesday 25 September, a male entered the Coral on Harrogate Road with an item concealed in a bag and made demands for cash from the assistant.
Believing the suspect to be armed, the female assistant handed over a quantity of cash and the male left the premises.
The suspect is described as wearing a white top which was pulled up to his nose, sunglasses and a hat.
He is believed to have fled on foot.
Detective Inspector Mark Taylor, of Bradford District CID, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are at an early stage and continuing, but we believe people will have seen this male in the area as it would have been busy with people going about their daily business.”
