Detectives are investigating after reports of men armed with weapons in South Manchester.
At about 8.30pm on Sunday 14 May 2017, a man was sat in his car on Lindsay Avenue in Levenshulme when a group of men, who arrived in a 4x4, approached him armed with knives. They threatened the man and hit him before fleeing.
At about 8.45pm the same evening, police received a report that three men in balaclavas, and one carrying a gun, pulled up on West Grove in Longsight in a black Nissan X-trail and smashed the windows of a Seat Leon car with a sledgehammer.
Detectives believe both incidents may be linked and are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
