A predatory paedophile who tried to lure three schoolgirls into his car has been jailed for life.
Michael Anthony Robertshaw, 41, originally from Bradford but most recently of Scarborough, was sentenced at York Crown Court.
The court heard how Robertshaw, who has previously served 18 years for rape, approached the three 14-year-old girls on separate occasions and masqueraded as a figure of authority seeing they got home safely.
The jury was also told an air rifle with a knife attached and an air pistol were found at his home, although he was banned from having firearms and was under supervision by a public protection police officer.
