Police investigating an incident in Eccleshill are appealing for information about a white car which is believed to have been involved.
At about 12.25am on Sunday, 3 April, two men knocked on the front door of a house in Norman Lane.
The occupant, a man in his thirties, looked out of his side door and saw a male further down his driveway carrying a box.
The male asked him if he had ordered a pizza and the occupant said he had not.
As the occupant shut the door he saw another male with his face covered holding what he believed to be a baseball bat.
It is believed the bat was used to smash a pane of glass on the door before the offenders ran off.
Detective Inspector Andy Howard, of Bradford District CID, said:
"We believe these males ran off towards a white hatchback-style car which was waiting nearby. This is described as looking similar to a Peugeot model.
"Our enquiries are continuing to trace this vehicle and we would like to hear from anyone who saw a similar vehicle in the Eccleshill area in the time leading up to this incident.
"At this time the motive for this attack remains unclear, so we would ask for anyone with information to contact DC 6071 Mohan at Bradford District CID on 101, quoting crime reference 13160142024, or to report anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
