Police are investigating an incident where shots were fired on a street in Withington.
At around 6.35pm on Tuesday 26 December 2017 police were called to Golborne Avenue in Withington, South Manchester to reports of a firearm discharge.
Officers attended and discovered damage to a vehicle consistent with gun shots.
Witnesses reported seeing a black vehicle driving away from the scene towards Meltham Avenue and Whitchurch Road.
Detective Inspector Mark Astbury from GMP’s City of Manchester team said: “Luckily no one was hurt, but when guns are used on our streets, people’s safety cannot be guaranteed. A team of officers are now working on this and we would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area, or may have any CCTV or dash-cam footage which could assist with our investigation, particularly if a black vehicle is seen. Guns are not welcome on our streets and we will put in every effort to find those who use them and bring them to justice.”
