Officers from the Major Collision Enquiry Team are asking anyone who witnessed an incident on Sunday (July 17) in Hebden Bridge to come forward.
The incident occurred around 1.15pm, when a cyclist travelling towards Hebden Bridge on Keighley Road, and Vauxhall Zafira travelling in the opposite direction collided between Hebden Bridge and Peckett Well.
The cyclist, a 32-year-old man died at the scene.
Two other male cyclists travelling along Keighley Road with the 32-year-old were uninjured.
A further cyclist collided with a Peugeot Van that had stopped to assist. He was taken to hospital for treatment. The incidents are being investigated separately.
Sergeant Matt Tunney of the Major Collision Enquiry Team said; "I would appeal to anyone who was travelling around the area on Sunday afternoon who may have seen either the cyclists, or the vehicle prior to the incident or anyone who witnessed the collision itself to come forward. Enquiries are ongoing."
