Officers urge anyone who saw a silver Mercedes with a 'Y' registration in the early hours of Monday morning to come forward.
At about 12.11am today (July 25) police received a call from a resident in Agar Terrace stating that someone had fired shots at the front door and that a silver Mercedes car with a 'Y' registration plate was seen driving away towards Girlington Road.
Officers attended and confirmed there was damage to a door which appeared to be consistent with a firearms discharge.
No injuries were reported.
As officers carried out enquiries to locate the vehicle and suspects, police were called to a report of a Y registered silver Mercedes which was found fire damaged in West Royd Road, Shipley.
The vehicle was recovered by officers and enquiries are continuing to establish if this was used in the earlier incident.
Anyone who may have seen this vehicle or one of similar description in the Bradford and Shipley area between midnight and 1.40am today, is asked to contact the Homicide and Major Enquiries Team on 101, quoting log 0020 of 25 July or to contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
