Police are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary at an elderly man's home in Rawdon.
At about 2pm yesterday (7/7), three masked men forced their way into the address in Upper Lombard Street and confronted the 87-year-old victim. They threatened him before searching the property and stealing a large amount of Asian gold jewellery.
All three men were masked but were believed to be white.
Detective Constable Clive Newman, of Leeds District Crime Team, said: "The victim was not physically injured but he was left badly shaken by what was clearly a very frightening experience. We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the street in the time leading up to it.
"We would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered Asian gold jewellery for sale in suspicious circumstances since yesterday."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Andy Farrell at Elland Road via 101 quoting crime number 13160290610 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
