New figures have revealed that nearly half of Bradford’s GCSE students failed to pass English and Maths this year.
Figures released by the Department for Education for the 2017-18 academic year show that nearly 44 per cent of students didn’t reach the required passing grade in the two core subjects.
However, Bradford Council claims the figures show an overall improvement over the past five years.
Those students who did not pass are now facing compulsory resits in June next year.
