Detectives have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of the body of a woman in Leeds.
At 9am yesterday, 14 May, police were called to woods near to Alwoodley Crags car park on Stairfoot Lane, where the body had been found by people out running.
A scene was established and remains in place for on-going forensic examination. The body, which has been identified as a 26-year-old woman from Leeds, was removed from the scene yesterday evening and a forensic post mortem is taking place today.
As a result of enquiries, a 26-year-old man from Leeds has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.
