A man was shot in the leg in an attack in Greater Manchester.
At around 11:20pm on Monday 24 July, police were called to Mauldeth Road West, in Withington, to reports that a man had been shot.
Officers attended but there was no victim at the scene or in the nearby area.
A short time later a man presented himself at Manchester Royal Infirmary with a gunshot wound to his leg.
He remains in hospital for treatment however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Following further enquiries, it is believed that the man was sat in a car on Mauldeth Road East when he was approached by the offender who shot him before fleeing the scene.
The incident is being treated as a targeted attack and there is believed to be no wider threat to the public.
