Police are seeking armed suspects today after a man in his 70s was shot outside a Bradford pub.
The police were alerted yesterday evening at approximately 9pm to reports a man had been injured with an air gun outside the Hare and Hounds pub in Toller Lane, Heaton.
Duty Inspector Brooksbank said "It may be that the suspect or suspects were trying to steal the gentleman's car. We think an air gun has been discharged and the man has received injuries to his hand and neck. Nevertheless, it is a serious incident and we are carrying out inquiries.”
The police were present at the crime scene until the early hours of the morning and the area remained cordoned off.
Duty Inspector Brooksbank said “The police are still appealing for witnesses. We will be checking CCTV in the area but ask anyone who may have been in the area and who may have witnessed anything to get in touch with us on 101."
