A 39 year old man who was in the UK illegally and got a 13-year-old girl pregnant while his wife was expecting their child has been locked up for seven-an-a-half years.
At the High Court in Glasgow Indian national Harpreet Padda admitted having sex with the child at a house in Greenock, Inverclyde, in 2014.
The court was told that Padda tried to flee to India after a DNA test but was taken off a flight at Heathrow Airport last year.
Judge Lord Beckett told Padda that he had committed "a despicable crime' and had shown "depravity and wickedness."
