A 20-year-old man from Bradford has been locked up for having sex with a girl aged 13 in a concrete shed.
Daniel Maddison was 18 when he took the child’s virginity after she sent him indecent photos she had taken of herself.
Prosecutor Michael Smith said Maddison befriended the girl and began a relationship with her, although he knew she was 13. He told her he was 17 and she thought he was a nice lad. They kissed in an alleyway and had consensual sex in a concrete shed on one occasion.
The victim said “she now felt isolated from her family and friends. Her confidence was knocked and her life had changed.”
Maddison, of Fenwick Drive, Woodside, Bradford, pleaded guilty to causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and to two charges of engaging in sexual activity with a child.
Judge David Hatton QC told Maddison: “I would be failing in my duty if I did not impose an immediate custodial sentence.” And sentence Daniel Maddison to three years and two months in a young offender institution.
The Judge also made an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and Maddison must sign on the sex offenders’ register for life.
