Detectives have arrested a 44-year-old man in connection with an alleged rape in a taxi in the Duke Street area of Sheffield on Sunday morning (Sunday 23 October).
It is reported that at about 1.10am, a 25-year-old woman was the victim of a rape. The incident is believed to have occurred in a taxi following a short journey from the West Street area.
The woman continues to be supported by specialist officers.
The 44-year-old man was arrested on Sunday night (Sunday 23 October) on suspicion of rape and was released on bail pending further enquiries. Anyone who has information about the incident should call 101
