A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman who died after an "altercation" in a town centre.
Lloyd Birkby, 26, of Jubilee Road, Halifax, appeared before Bradford magistrates court on Tuesday, accused of murdering Levi Ogden, 26, who was pronounced dead in hospital after being found seriously injured in a street in Halifax in the early hours of Sunday.
Birkby, has also been charged with assaulting other people during the incident in Silver Street.
West Yorkshire Police said Ms Ogden was found unconscious following an altercation at about 2.15am on Sunday.
A spokesman appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that could help the investigation to contact the homicide and major inquiry team on 101.
Following the death of Ms Ogden, a JustGiving page was launched and has since raised more than £3,000.
Birkby appeared before Bradford Magistrates' Court charged with one count of murder and two counts of assault.
