The train operator Northern has confirmed the introduction of six-carriage long train services in and out of Leeds has been delayed.
The longer trains were set to be operational at the end of this year but will now not enter service until late 2021.
The two-year delay is because the construction of longer platforms at Leeds, carried out by Network Rail, will not be ready in time.
