Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was found at a property in Bury.
Shortly after 12.35pm on Wednesday 11 April, police were called to Ripon Avenue by the North West Ambulance Service to reports of concern for the welfare of a man.
Officers attended and found the body of a man believed to be in his 20s.
Police suspect the man was involved in an earlier altercation at a property on Rydal Close in Bury before he returned to Ripon Avenue.
An 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector John Stainton of GMP’s Bury borough, said: “We have specially trained officers supporting the man’s family and I want to assure them that we are doing all we can to find out what happened.
“While we have arrested a man, our investigation is in its very early stages and I would urge anyone with any information that could assist our investigation to please get in touch.”
