Greater Manchester Police were involved in a manhunt following reports of a person with a knife in Tameside.
Officers were called to Clarendon Place yesterday (10 September) afternoon after what is believed to have been a disturbance at a shop.
Reports say a witness saw a person running away with a knife in his pocket and the force helicopter was involved in the ensuing search.
A police spokesperson later said they do not believe the suspect to have been carrying a knife.
Enquiries are ongoing.
