A Huddersfield man who shoplifted from Boots so that he could pay his bills has been jailed.
Sean McTighe told police that his father usually took care of the utility bills at their flat but had been admitted to hospital, suffering from cancer.
The 36-year-old admitted to three thefts from the store. He stole more than £200 worth of fragrances.
On Tuesday, 27 June, he was caught ripping the security tags off bottles of perfume and hiding them in his clothing.
He attempted to run off but security guards detained him and alerted police.
McTighe, who tested positive for cocaine, admitted to police that he also targeted the store on 10 and 24 June.
