Investigators have found that the cause of a flat fire on Savile Road in Halifax, early on the morning of 5 May, was smoking related.
Fire fighters were called out to the property at around 5.30am.
Two men were rescued and were given first aid at the scene by paramedics.
Despite their best efforts one of the men, aged in his fifties, sadly died.
Whilst the cause of death is yet to be established, the cause of the fire has been found to be a dropped cigarette on bedding.
