Former footballer Gary McCallister required hospital treatment after being attacked outside of a bar in Leeds.
The former Leeds, Liverpool, Coventry, Leicester and Scotland midfielder was reportedly punched in the face early on Sunday morning (24 March).
McAllister is Steven Gerrard's assistant at Rangers and is said to be recovering at home in North Yorkshire.
West Yorkshire Police has not named McCallister but confirmed officers were investigating an alleged assault.
