A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a gun was fired inside a police car on Christmas Day in Bradford city Centre.
Officers arrived at the scene around 4am, the police said no one was injured by the gunshot but one person was injured as a result of an assault.
West Yorkshire Police stated that the firearm was "discharged into a marked police vehicle" on Sackville Street.
The top of Sackville Street near to Westgate remains cordoned off.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and any witnesses are asked to contact the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team on 101.
