A Doctor who was repeatedly caught sleeping on the job and using hospital office equipment for her own personal use has been struck off.
The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service has heard that Dr Meenakshi Chopra, whilst working as an associate specialist doctor in psychiatry for Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, was warned time and again after being spotted sleeping while on shift from 2009 to 2014.
Colleagues also caught her using a staff photocopier for a 400-page legal report for a property dispute in India, was caught arranging her daughter’s wedding while on duty and she was found to have used the trust’s internal mail to post out invoices for her husband’s private medical practice.
In defence Dr Chopra insisted no patient had come to any harm.
