A woman in her fifties has been hospitalised with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds following a firearms incident in Bradford on Sunday night.
Police attended an address in Barkerend Road last night at 11.24pm following reports of a firearms discharge.
Subsequently, police cordons were put in place around Barkerend Road this morning, between Chelmsford Road and Killinghall Road.
Regarding the incident, a West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Armed officers responded to the call and found a woman in her fifties with suspected gunshot wounds.
“She was taken to hospital for further treatment and her condition is currently described as stable.
“Road closures remain in place around the Killinghall Road area today to allow for enquiries to continue and people are advised to find an alternative route.”
“Enquiries suggest this was a targeted attack and extra patrols will be operating in the area today to provide reassurance to the community.”
