A Bradford man who took an accomplice armed with an iron bar to his estranged wife’s family home for a violent attack which left his brother-in-law with a broken arm has been locked up for nearly five years.
Bradford Crown Court heard when he was 18 Usman Sadiq took a masked accomplice, brandishing a 12-inch-long metal bar, to the home of his wife’s family over arguments about jewellery when his marriage failed.
Now 19 years of age Sadiq, of Aireville Road, Frizinghall, was sentenced to four years and eight months in a young offenders institution after he pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent to his brother in law Saghir Hussain and sending malicious messages.
