A Bradford father has admitted attempted to murder his newborn baby.
The 25-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had been due to stand trial at Bradford Crown Court before pleading guilty to the offence after being assessed by psychiatrists.
It is believed the man attempted to smother his son at an address in Bradford on 14 March, when the baby was just a few weeks old.
The man was remanded in custody to appear at the same court on 31 August.
