Bradford City AFC has retained its EFL Gold Award for Family Excellence for the 2025/26 season after being recognised for its family-friendly matchday experience.
Bradford City AFC has retained its EFL Gold Award for Family Excellence for the 2025/26 season.
The EFL’s Family Excellence Scheme assesses the matchday experience clubs provide for families, with assessors visiting stadiums during the season to evaluate areas including ticket purchasing, accessibility, facilities, refreshments and fan engagement.
Bradford City finished ninth highest among the 24 League One clubs assessed and nineteenth across the entire English Football League.
The club improved its score during the season, rising from eight out of ten during an early-season assessment against Wimbledon to nine out of ten during a later visit for the Peterborough game.
Assessors awarded maximum marks for the club’s website and social media during the second visit, while improvements were also recognised in ticket purchasing, post-match experience and supporter engagement.
Enhancements at Valley Parade have included family murals in the Morrisons Family Stand, activities in Billy’s Coop, the introduction of Billy’s Swap Shop for Panini stickers and improved experiences for first-time visitors.
City’s Fan Engagement Officer Liam Mould praised staff, caterers and the Bradford City Community Foundation for helping retain the award, while EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch said clubs recognised through the scheme were helping inspire the next generation of supporters.
