Bradford Cathedral calls for your support to help needy families ahead of its Harvest Festival service

Donations can be brought to the Cathedral this week, or at the Harvest Festival service on Sunday 3rd October at 10:30am

Bradford Cathedral will be holding its annual Harvest Festival service on Sunday 3rd October, and is looking for donations of food (fresh or tinned), toiletries, stationery, and sweets to help support those most in need in the city.

Donations can be brought to the Cathedral on the morning of the service or can be dropped off during the opening hours this week of 10am – 4pm (except Wednesday, from 12noon – 4pm). Visitors are also invited during this time to explore the Cathedral to discover more about its history and heritage.

All are welcome to attend this Sunday’s service at the Cathedral and places can be booked using the calendar on the Bradford Cathedral website, or for those unable to attend in person, the service will also be streamed live on the Cathedral’s YouTube channel.

The Revd Mandy Coutts, Canon for Mission and Pastoral Development, says:
“We’d love you to come and celebrate the Harvest Festival with us this Sunday. It’s a time of great joy as we give thanks to our generous God for the food that we eat and those who produce it.

“It is also an opportunity to bring in donations, which will then be given to Horton House, Abigail House, the Bradford Foodbank, and other needy families.”

Bradford Cathedral’s Harvest Festival will feature a sermon from visiting preacher the Rt Revd Dr Helen-Ann Hartley, Bishop of Ripon. There will also be a special rendition of the hymn ‘You Crown The Year’, sung by the Cathedral’s ‘Grace Notes’ choir.
