A man arrested at Manchester Airport for Syria-related terrorism offences has been released on police bail.
The 18-year-old was detained by officers from West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit on Saturday morning (Saturday 16 April) after arriving in the UK.
It followed the arrest of a man, aged 24, and a woman, aged 20, from Birmingham on 4 April, who are also currently on police bail.
These arrests were part of an on-going investigation and intelligence led; there was no immediate threat to public safety.
These arrests and this investigation are not connected to the terrorism-related arrests of five people from Birmingham on Friday.
