Detectives in Drumchapel are appealing for information after a car was deliberately driven at two police officers on Sunday 23 October 2016.
Around 2315 hours, two police officers were responding to a call in Banner Drive.
In conducting their enquiries at the location, officers stopped a car to speak to the occupants when the car reversed and struck both officers, leaving them seriously injured.
Emergency services responded to the incident and both officers were taken to hospital. The female officer, aged 30, suffered serious injuries and is currently in ICU. The other officer, aged 31 was also seriously injured. He remains in hospital.
Extensive enquiries are underway with detectives conducting door-to-door enquiries and checking CCTV footage for additional detail.
The incident is being treated as attempted murder.
Detective Inspector Ian Hylands said:
“Our enquiries so far have revealed that a blue Nissan Qashqai was seen at the location around the time of the incident. A vehicle matching that description has been found badly damaged by fire in Lennox Gardens, Scotstoun."
"However we have yet to confirm if that is the same vehicle. Despite the damage, forensic officers will carry out a comprehensive examination of the car."
Everything that can be done to locate the suspects is being done but I would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen the incident last night or who has any knowledge of the vehicle or the suspects to contact us."
Two police officers, in responding to an incident to help protect the public, have been badly injured. Help us find those responsible.”
