The incident happened at about 11.20am on Monday, 1 August, as the pensioner was waiting at a bus stop in Tong Street.
The suspect is described as white and of slight build.
He was believed to be between 16 and 20 years old and was wearing a pale blue t-shirt.
He is believed to have run off towards Shetcliffe Lane.
The victim was unhurt, but shaken.
Detective Inspector Craig McKay, of Bradford District CID, said:
"We have made numerous enquiries into this incident, which took place on a busy main road and in broad daylight.
"The victim struggled with the suspect as she tried to hold on to her bag, so we believe someone will have seen this or may have seen the suspect running off.
