Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died following a collision in Huddersfield
The incident occurred around 10am yesterday on Lindley Moor Road, near to the Wappy Spring Inn, when a Green Renault Megane and blue Ford Focus were involved in a collision.
The driver of the Renault Megane, an 80-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. He died a short time later.
The driver of the Ford Focus, a 56-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
DS Mat Tunney of the Major Collision and Enquiry Team, said: "I would appeal to anyone who was driving around the area near to Lindley Moor Road and may have seen either of the vehicles prior to the incident, or anyone who witnesses the collision itself to come forward.
"Enquiries are ongoing to determine the full circumstances of what took place."
