Detectives are appealing for information following a violent altercation and associated incidents in the Alder Street area of Huddersfield in the early hours of yesterday morning (Sunday, 3 July).
Police received a number of calls shortly after midnight reporting that a group of males had smashed the window of a blue Renault Scenic parked up in Alder Street, Huddersfield and assaulted a number of people in the vehicle. The Renault was then reportedly driven off and has been in collision with two parked vehicles in Blacker Road.
The reported victims of the assault have not come forward to the police and officers would appeal for these individuals to make contact.
Detective Inspector Ian Mottershaw said: "While we have spoken to a number of witnesses, we have not yet had any contact from the reported victims and therefore have not been able to confirm the level of injuries they sustained and whether they are okay. We would urge these people to come forward as a matter of urgency.
"We are also keen to speak to anyone else who has witnessed any part of this incident, including the events building up to or following the assault or subsequent collisions.
"Anyone with information is asked to call Kirklees District CID via 101 or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
