A 44-year-old man has been sentenced to life for stabbing his partner in the head.
Anthony Friend and his partner were both under the influence of alcohol when the incident took place in October last year at around 9:45am.
Leeds Crown Court saw CCTV footage of Friend, slashing the woman in the head with a kitchen knife. She suffered a six-inch wound.
He pleaded guilty to wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
Judge Tom Bayliss, QC, sentenced Friend for life and ordered that he must serve a minimum of five years in custody.
