A 33-year-old man has been jailed for 19 months for two drink and drug-fuelled attacks on his partner.
Jonathan Parker broke the woman's jaw and slapped her so hard she fell and struck her head.
Police forced entry to her home and found Parker hiding under a bed. There was blood on the doors and bedding and broken ornaments.
Parker, pleaded guilty to causing his victim grievous bodily harm on the 30th of October and actual bodily harm on the 11th of November.
Prosecutor Ben Campbell said the woman recognised that Parker had mental health problems and did not want him to get into serious trouble.
Judge Jonathan Rose accepted that Parker had difficulties and sentenced him to 19 months.
