Detectives investigating two shooting incidents in Leeds have arrested a 15-year-old.
He was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences during an armed police operation at an address in the Halton area yesterday (18 July).
A 17-year-old was shot and seriously injured on Pasture Road, Harehills, shortly before 6.00pm on Monday 16 July. He is continuing to receive treatment in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and remains under arrest on suspicion of firearms offences.
Detectives believe the shooting in Pasture Road may be linked to an earlier incident where a shotgun was fired at a house in Devon Close, Woodhouse.
Detective Inspector Andy Farrell, of West Yorkshire Police Firearms Prevent Team, said: “We are continuing to carry out comprehensive enquiries into these incidents and the investigation is progressing with the additional arrest we have made this morning.
“We are building up a picture of the circumstances surrounding these incidents and would still like to hear from anyone who witnessed any part of them or who has any information that could assist us.
“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has seen the blue Ford Ka that was used. We have now established that that vehicle was bought and delivered to the Little London area on June 29 and we want to hear from anyone who has seen the vehicle and its occupants since that time or being driven in the various areas around the time of the incidents.
“We are still working on the basis that these incidents have been targeted attacks which are likely to be part of a dispute between criminals.”
