Wayne Rooney on verge of DC United move

Wayne Rooney is on the verge of finalising a deal that will take the 32-year-old to America.

Manchester United and England's record goalscorer agreed a deal in principle last month with MLS club DC United.

He is now expected to travel to the United States later this week to complete the transfer.

Rooney re-joined Everton in July 2017 having spent 13 seasons at Manchester United.

The former England captain made 40 appearances for the club last season and was the Toffee's top scorer with 11 goals.
