Peter Sagan has ended a dispute with cycling’s world governing body (UCI) over his disqualification from the Tour de France.
The Bora-Hansgrohe rider was kicked off of this year’s Tour after he was deemed to have caused a crash which retired Mark Cavendish from the race with a broken shoulder.
Cavendish claimed the Slovak elbowed him during the sprint finish on stage four in Vittel.
Sagan, 27, insisted he did not see Cavendish as the Manxman tried to race up the inside by the barriers.
The matter will now be closed after UCI said: "the parties agreed that the crash was an unfortunate and unintentional race incident" and that it had considered "video footage that was not available at the time" in making their latest judgement.
