17-year-old American dominates women’s Olympic halfpipe

An American teenager put in a flawless run during the women’s halfpipe at the 2018 Winter Olympics to take gold.

Chloe Kim won with a score of 98.25 on her final run with China's Jiayu Liu taking silver and United States' Arielle Gold winning bronze.

The 17-year-old had already secured gold with her first run score but managed to improve on it with the last run of the day.

The crowd in Pyeongchang got right behind the snowboarding sensation, due to her South Korean parents.

Another American 17-year-old snowboarder took gold on Sunday when Red Gerard pulled a solid run out the bag to make a shock victory.
