Woman kills ex-lover by throwing acid on him in India

A man has died after acid was thrown at him by a former lover in Hyederabad.

The victim, identified as a man named Iliyas, suffered severe acid burns and died whilst being treated at the Guntur Government General Hospital.

The suspect, Hima Bindu, was in a relationship with Iliyas for over four years.

It is believed she attacked him after he got married to another woman on Tuesday, 23 May.

She allegedly wanted to see the victim to settle matters with him but when they met she poured acid on his face.

Police have launched an investigation and have not yet apprehended the suspect.
