Pakistan bride charged over ‘poisoned milk’ deaths

A Pakistani woman has been charged over the deaths of at least 13 people by allegedly providing them with poisoned milk.

Police believe Asiya Bibi attempted to feed her husband with the tainted milk but, when he failed to consume it, she turned into a batch of lassi - a yogurt drink - and served to his extended family.

It is believed the woman had been forced into an arranged marriage in September.

Police said 13 people died and 14 were hospitalised, though a local media report claims the death count to be at 15 so far.
