Deal agreed to repatriate Rohingya from Bangladesh to Myanmar

A deal has been reached to repatriate Rohingya Muslim refugees in Bangladesh to Myanmar.

Bangladesh says an agreement has been made for Myanmar to accept 1,500 Rohingya every week, with the target of returning all of them in two years.

Aid agencies have raised concerns about forcibly repatriating the Rohingya.

Over 650,000 fled violence in Rakhine state in August. The military crackdown has been condemned by many on the international stage as ethnic cleansing.
