5 minutes | Thursday, 6 June 2019

New research has revealed the struggle that people with pre-existing medical conditions go through when trying to holiday overseas.

According to the report by Medical Travel Compared, almost a third (32%) of Brits have found it difficult to obtain travel insurance due to a pre-existing medical condition, significantly impacting their holiday habits.

A third (34%) found the price of insurance after declaring medical conditions far too expensive with a similar number (33%) discovering their condition could not be covered.

To discuss the research further and how those with pre-existing medical conditions can make sure they are covered when traveling abroad we were joined by travel insurance expert Tommy Lloyd from Medical Travel Compared.
