Newsroom Special - Confusion over cancer symptoms
Newsroom Specials
Tuesday, 15 January 2019 - 4 minutes
New research carried out on behalf of Bupa has revealed there’s still widespread confusion about cancer, with nearly half of UK adults (42%) admitting they are confused about what to check for when it comes to the most common kinds such as skin, bowel or lung.
As a result, less than half of people (48%) check for cancer symptoms at least once a month and two in five (38%) on average have never checked themselves.
We were joined by Dr Luke James, medical director at Bupa, to tell us more about the research and a new guide that has been released to help address any confusion when it comes to checking for symptoms.
